| Q: | Do you repair brakes…or mufflers…or transmissions… |
| A: | Let us stop you right there. The simple answer is “Yes!” We do all mechanical repairs, service, and collision you could ever need. This includes: tire alignments, major mechanical and body repair, frame straightening… Basically, if it can go wrong on your car, we can bring it back to factory standards. |
| Q: | Are there any cars you don't do work on? |
| A: | All of our service and body technicians are ASE and ICAR trained and certified. That means they're able to work on all types of vehicles ' from imports and hybrids to heavy commercial vehicles. If it has 4 wheels and a license plate, we can fix it. (And if it doesn't we're still willing to try!) |
| Q: | Do you provide any kind of warranty on your work? |
| A: | All of our collision repair work is protected by warranty for as long you own your car, wherever you may be. So if you move and have an issue that requires repairs, simply put us on the phone with the repair shop and we'll give them our credit card number. And thanks to our partnership with NAPA, if you ever decide to drive across the country, your service and mechanical repairs are covered. That's right ' a coast to coast warranty. All you have to do is call Gates Automotive. |
| Q: | Will the work you do on my car void my factory warranty? |
| A: | No! Having work done by someone other than a dealer will not in any way void your vehicle manufacturer's warranty. What it will do is save you money. A dealer may ask you to prove that you've been servicing you vehicle regularly, and we give you all you need when you walk out of our shop. We'll even be happy to phone or fax any information to any dealer. |
| Q: | Can you do manufacturer warranty work? |
| A: | This must be done by a dealer. What we can do is extended warranty work (under most providers). Give us a call, and we'll do all the leg work to let you know if you can still enjoy the Gates Auto experience while benefiting from your warranty. |
| Q: | When you work on my car can you turn off my check engine, ABS, or any other service light that's on? |
| A: | Of course we can! We have the same ' if not better ' computer technology than most dealers, plus, the latest software to communicate with all domestic and most foreign vehicles. If a service light is on in your car, our computer system can find the code stored in its computer to correct the problem. |
| Q: | Can you help me with a rental car? |
| A: | Absolutely. First, you should know that if you were in an accident where you were judged 'not at fault', you're entitled to a rental car. If you're on the other side of the coin and you're using your own insurance to pay for collision, you'll want to consult your policy. Regardless of whether you're your policy does not cover a rental car, you're paying for collision work yourself, or you're coming in for service work, we can put you in an Enterprise Rental quickly, easily, and at a reduced rate. Our services allow for pick-up and drop off at both of our locations. To avoid frustration, call us, and let us arrange your rental. If you do not have rental coverage, ask us about our special rental rate ' some situations may allow a courtesy loaner vehicle. |
| Q: | Do you have a shuttle service? |
| A: | We do, but we don't call it that because we give you a ride in a personal, comfortable vehicle. There's always someone on hand to pick you up or take you where you need to go. Taking you anywhere in Monroe or North Livingston Counties is part of the Gates Automotive service. |
